COVID-19_ An application that can determine the values of risk factors indoors.

In the context of the fight against COVID-19, two basic rules of social distance have been defined:

  • the distance of two meters between two people and
  • the necessary use of a mask.

Until today, parallel the above measures, there was explicitly a recommendation to avoid gatherings.

For the festive days, the theme of the gatherings has been modified, and obviously, there are different opinions among scientists about the permissible number of people indoors.

In the context of risk analysis, in Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 45005, B&W CERT, H&W CERT, M&W CERT, S&W CERT), Toolit considers as a safe approach the multidimensional tool model developed by John W. M. Bush & Martin Z. Bazant (MIT).

The tool works by assuming that a person in the room has COVID-19 and uses a complex mathematical model to simulate infection rates based on factors such as room size, speech volume, the air filtration system that is probably used, and much more.

The user can assess the transmission risk by linking their parameters.

The application is free to use, at: https://indoor-covid-safety.herokuapp.com/
