ISO 39001: 2012 Road Safety Management System
An organization that expects to eliminate road accident-related injuries can adopt ISO 39001: 2012 which sets out the requirements for a Road Safety Management System (RSMS).
Road safety is a phenomenon that needs to be prioritized as it is a global concern. An estimated 1.3 million people are killed and 20 million to 50 million are injured on the streets around the world each year. Thus, the importance of the existence of a System for the avoidance of such results is understood.
The requirements of ISO 39001: 2012 include the development and implementation of an appropriate Road Safety policy, the development of objectives and action plans, which take into account the legal and other requirements to which the organization adheres.
This International Standard applies to any public or private organization, regardless of the type, size, and product or service provided.
